I’ve been with BBM for nutrition coaching for about 4 months, and its been a wonderful experience. Vanessa’s guidance and knowledge have helped me lose over 40 pounds so far. I plan on continuing with her coaching until I lose another 20. I can’t recommend it enough!
I love working with the barbell medicine team. My coach provides great feedback on my lifts and adjust the program based on my current goals
Working with Barbell Medicine has definitely improved my hope for a more attainable desired outcome regarding my SLAP tear injury from 20+ years ago. Having shoulder surgery on my labrum many years ago had me thinking that I’d be confined to a semi-crippled state regarding overhead strength movements, but after having tinkered with so many approaches I feel Barbell Medicine is a platform where I can finally get this rehab right.
I’ve been working with Cam to address low back issues for a few months now and it’s been great. My goals were to reduce discomfort and increase my general fitness and level of readiness for activities like surfing and climbing. Surfing especially had caused my low back to flare up. Cam put together a solid program of lifts for me that responded to my goals, and he’s done a great job of adjusting our approach depending on how my body responds to the training. For example, reducing range of motion on RDLs after a tweak or using weight caps to keep me within my back’s current window of tolerance. He’s really encouraging and I’d recommend him to anybody looking to make some headway on rehabbing an injury, even if your sport isn’t powerlifting. I lifted 3x and surfed 2x this week and my low back feels fine. It’s not magic and I’m sure I’ll have setbacks down the road, but working with Cam has increased my confidence in my ability to bounce back and keep building fitness.
The team at Barbell Medicine are absolutely awesome. I have been doing coaching with Charlie for over a year now, he has been able to take me from daily pain to competing in competition and breaking through PR’s and quickly pivoting approach as and when different injuries pop up. Lots of useful actionable advice on form and well-structured approach to change my view on training and pain
Fantastic experiences with the entire BB team. Kind, courteous and incredibly knowledgeable. Adaptive, and help cut through the misinformation with well-informed, medically sound rehab programs.
I have relied on this service for several injuries, including chronic back pain and a shoulder problem. I have found the rehabilitation program to be excellent: not only did it help me overcome both injuries, but it also provided me with the tools and information necessary to manage myself independently. I highly recommend this service to anyone who needs an effective and professional recovery path!
My coach Joe has been awesome. He’s really challenged me in my program and has given me valuable feedback along the way.
I have made the most progress with 1:1 coaching with Coach Leah Lutz at Barbell Medicine. She has managed my training for over 5 years now! It never gets “old”. It’s a necessity for me at this point. Leah is truly the mark of a professional. She understands up and downs with training, life events, and has designed my programming for every meet these past several years. It’s always perfect. Also, she helped me rehab through annoying aches and pains that come up from time to time. I can always ask questions about diet, time management and last-minute meet prep advice. It’s been a fun journey, and I have been able to do well under her guidance.
Coach Cameron helped me tremendously during my rehab block that I had with him. I had multiple issues (lower back pain, hip pain, shoulder and knee) that was affecting me mentally and physically. He provided a clear and concise program that was easy to understand and executed. He answered all of my questions within 24 hours. Highly recommend him as a coach. Thank you coach Cameron and the barbell medicine team!
I’ve been working with Charlie Dickson through Barbell Medicine for 5 years now and I could not more highly recommend it. Invest in yourself and schedule a consult. Think about all the money you likely spend on leisurely activities such eating out, energy drinks, coffee, etc. if you’re willing to spend money on those instant gratification things; you owe it to yourself to give BBM Pain and Rehab a try.
Barbell Medicine has been a life saver. After experiencing months of sciatica and constantly dealing with creeping doubts about the future of my strength training, and physical activity in general, the rehab team does a wonderful job keeping you on track and mind at ease while you continue pushing to achieve your goals. I would recommend their services to anyone going through a similar situation, especially with all the misinformation that is on the internet today.
Derek is phenomenal. If you’re on the fence, don’t be! I was leery of doing this via Zoom. NO NEED TO BE! Derek got it right, was easy to talk to, is clear skilled, and had a plan to get me on track fast. I highly recommend him.
I have gained so much confidence with Derek. The ability to get not only movement but mental coaching has been the value for me
Amazing. Loving training again while working through injuries and hitting PRs all at the same time. Perfect coaching and easy to use. 100% recommend!
I’ve been working with my coach (Hassan) for over five years and continue to set new PRs and improve my health beyond my expectations.
Coaching was just what I needed to get back into training. The video form reviews are really helpful, practical and positive encouragement was fantastic. Well worth it.
What makes Barbell Medicine One-On-One Coaching special is that your coach will really go the extra mile to make a program that works for you that is motivating and based on scientifically optimal approaches and will hold you accountable for putting the work in. Since I started the program with Barbell Medicine I have seen improvements across the board in my body composition, lab chemistries, and blood pressure.
Getting a coach has been the second best decision that I have made in recent years. The first being the decision to start lifting, which I would also attribute to Barbell Medicine. One-on-one coaching has allowed me to remain consistent in my training throughout the uncertainty of injury, pain, and recovery. Leah is everything I didn’t know I needed.
Joe has been excellent, great advice, workouts that are helping me achieve my goals. Has improved my strength and health.
Barbell Medicine is changing the game for me, with tangible improvements in strength and performance in just a few months!
Working with Cassie had helped me get my lifts in order, gives me encouragement and confidence, and allows me to learn how to succeed in my plans.
I highly recommend Dr. Miles for anyone needing injury rehab. He is incredibly knowledgeable and patient, and his approach is perfect for anyone who tends to overthink their rehab or pain. He takes the time to guide you step by step, helping you stay focused on what’s important and ensuring you’re doing the right things to make progress. His expertise in both rehab and strengthening is clear, and he’s always there to provide the support you need. A big thank you to Dr. Miles and the team at Barbell Medicine for all their help—I’m truly grateful for the care and guidance!
Leah is great. Has helped me lose 10lb in three months. I’ve learned a lot and she’s helped me stay on track. The protein powder tastes good and I keep getting more.
Very good so far, personalized and comprehensive approach, I think there is a lot of value to the service.
Derek Miles is a very qualified professional in the physical therapy field. He has helped me prepare using appropriate virtual exercises (including several Zoom sessions) for pre and post total hip replacement surgery. I highly recommend him without any hesitation.
