At barbell medicine, we leverage technology such as the Barbell Medicine mobile app, email, and video sharing to provide the high-quality coaching service to thousands of our clients. It is well understood that our diet plays a critical role in our overall health. However, there are a number of factors in our modern life that bring tremendous challenges for most people to meet their basic daily needs without guidance. This gap is heavily supported by evidence that we’ve referenced in key articles that we’ve written on this website and won’t repeat here.

Thus, our Online Nutrition Coaching service is to provide a comprehensive approach (medical & nutritional science and behavioral change) to help you implement effective strategies to meet your goals. These goals for our clients range from those wanting to lose weight, those focused on improving their health outcomes, and even athletes who want an intelligent approach to gaining or losing weight for performance and related goals.

Your Barbell Medicine Coach will first discuss your goals, preferences, and resources to develop a personalized nutrition plan that is right for you. Your coach will also provide personalized conditioning plans to complement your diet and nutritional plan. Your progress will be tracked online, and you’ll have weekly check-ins with your coach to discuss your progress and any help that you need. You also have access to your coach with unlimited email support.

We also provide a Barbell Medicine Nutrition eBook with this service to explain what, why, and how of your nutrition plan. Finally, if you are an athlete, your coach will also discuss weight management strategy and plan with you to help meet your goals.

Yes, online nutrition coaching is worth it. Regardless of the goals that our clients have when working with their nutrition coach, whether to lose weight or just stay on the best possible health trajectory, they find our service a strong value and one of the most important investments they can make in the quality of their life.

All of our work is done completely by our (human) coaches with no generic templates or automated responses. We believe that the level of experience and expertise you receive from our offering is second-to-none and well worth the nominal cost.

We coach people who have little or no experience with exercise all the way through athletes who compete at the national and international levels of competition.

We match trainees with Coaches based on background, goals, and availability. If there’s a specific Coach you have in mind, we can discuss if that’s possible.

The typical coaching cadence is to check in with each other weekly, so that’s the unit of time that is useful to understand progress and making sure your progress is on track towards your goals.

One of the core elements of our coaching offerings is to customize the program to exactly what you want. If for some reason your Coach didn’t get a program right, there are opportunities at every stage to give feedback to ensure the recommendations are going to suit all of your goals, capabilities, and preferences.
